Class Overview: Costumed-Action with live model and guided instruction.
This class welcomes artists of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced. It is designed to help you build strong foundational skills while offering individualized critiques to support your artistic growth. Through a combination of guided practice, live demonstrations, and personalized feedback, you’ll gain the confidence to capture the likeness of a live model.
What Students Will Learn:
- How to accurately measure and establish proportions when working from life.
- Techniques for creating form and volume using values and light.
- Personalized guidance tailored to help you achieve your specific artistic goals.

- 4 Classes for $175, choose the days that work with your schedule.
- Instructed Sessions are every other Wednesday, Wednesday's in between are non-instructed for your practice. Non-instructed sessions are sold separately.
- We'll have 1 model per month.

Instructor Biography
Ann Moeller Steverson is an oil painter known for her mood-filled figures, portraits, and still life’s. Her contemporary work bridges classical beauty with the modern painting practices of today. She has been awarded the honor of the Bold Brush Award, a distinction an artist may achieve only once in their lifetime. Ann’s work has recently been selected as a finalist in the Art Renewal Center, been featured in several Oil Painters of America exhibits. She has been awarded by the National Acrylic & Oil Painters Society and Portrait Society of America.
In 2015, Ann partnered with two other artists to help co-found Protege Atelier, where she paints, teaches, and assists in bringing master artist workshops to Huntsville. Steverson is also the inventor and founder of Venus Copper Panels, now known as Artefex Copper Panels, the first CCM (copper composite material) artist panel.
A native of Madison, Alabama, Ann began painting in oils at the University of Montevallo in 1999. She graduated in 2002 from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, completing a B.A. with a Fine Arts Concentration. Ann then acquired a Master of Art Education from Alabama A&M University in Normal, Alabama.
Ann exhibits her work nationally and internationally and soon will have several of her works included in the Peregrine Collection, via which they will be archived on the moon.
Ann Moeller has been painting for over 20 years, and she's excited to share her knowledge with students of all levels.
NOTE: Online classes, priced at $200, include the convenience of attending from anywhere, access to digital resources, and technology to ensure a seamless, interactive virtual experience. This small difference reflects the additional costs of hosting high-quality online sessions while ensuring a great experience for all participants.

At the end of the class there will be a photo session with the model. If you want to take photos during the class, please hand the camera to the teacher, who will take the picture for you. This ensures our model's comfort.

Our staff are compensated, however they are also very professional and love encouragement from party goers. We recommend a 15% tip.

At Huntsville Art Supplies, we understand that plans can change. To ensure a smooth experience for all, please review our class cancellation policy below:
Cancellations by Customers: If you need to cancel your registration for a class, please notify us at least 72 hours before the scheduled class start time.
Store or Class Credit: Cancellations meeting the above timeframe will receive a gift card for the full amount of the class fee. This gift card can be used toward any in-store purchase or applied to a future class of your choice.
No Refunds for Customer Cancellations: Unless canceled by Huntsville Art Supplies or the instructor, we do not offer cash refunds for class cancellations. All credits will be issued as a gift card.
Late Cancellations or No-Shows: Cancellations within 72 hours of the class or failure to attend without prior notice will not be eligible for a gift card or credit.
Cancellations by Huntsville Art Supplies or Instructor: If Huntsville Art Supplies or the instructor cancels a class, a full refund will be issued to the original payment method.
