Sweet Treats Summer Art Camp

🍩 A Colorful, Creative, and Deliciously Fun Art Experience! 🎨

This three-day summer art camp is perfect for kids ages 8-12 who love art and sweet treats! Young artists will explore different mediums while creating vibrant, dessert-inspired artwork. From colorful cupcakes to pop art donuts, this class blends fun and learning through hands-on projects.

Workshop Details:
Dates: June 16 - 18, 2025
Time: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Location: Studio 269 & 270, Huntsville Art Supplies
Ticket Price: $210 for all three days
Maximum Class Size: 12
Minimum Class Size: 4 (If less than 4, the class will be canceled and fees refunded.)

What You’ll Create:

🍩 Air Dry Clay Donuts – Sculpt and decorate realistic-looking donuts using air-dry clay.
🧁 Oil Pastel Cupcakes – Learn to blend oil pastels while exploring complementary colors.
🎨 Color Wheel Ice Cream Cones – Use watercolor and sharpies to understand primary, secondary, and tertiary colors.
Acrylic Popsicles – Design bold and colorful acrylic paintings inspired by pop art!

What You’ll Learn:

• Hands-on experience with Watercolor, Acrylic, Oil Pastels, and Clay
• Color theory basics, blending techniques, and sculpting skills
• How to bring delicious desserts to life through vibrant art!

Daily Schedule:

🕘 9:00-9:30 AM – Meet & Greet, Introduction to the Day’s Lesson
🖌 9:30-10:30 AM – Demonstration & Hands-on Artmaking
🍎 10:30-10:45 AM – Snack & Bathroom Break
🎨 10:45-11:45 AM – Continue Project or Start a New One
🧹 11:45 AM-12:00 PM – Clean Up & Pack Up

What to Bring:

• A drink and a snack each day
• Clothes that can get messy!

About the Instructor:

Summer Camp with Beth McKay at Huntsville Art Supplies

Beth McKay is a certified art teacher and artist at Lowe Mill. She began her formal art training at the University of Montevallo in 2002 with a concentration in painting and a minor in graphic design. She earned her degree in Art Education from the University of Alabama in Huntsville in 2018 to foster the love of art in young minds. She has been an elementary art teacher in Huntsville City Schools for 7 years and currently teaches art at Ridgecrest, Farley, and Monte Sano Elementary schools. She has been creating art for over 25 years, is a member of the ALWCA, and is a working artist with a studio at Lowe Mill Arts & Entertainment in Studio 261. Her preferred mediums include oil, watercolor, and screenprinting.
