This three-day summer art camp is perfect for young artists ages 4-7 who love the ocean and want to get creative! Kids will explore an underwater adventure, making sea-inspired art with different mediums. From jellyfish and other delightful sea creatures, this camp is all about hands-on fun and imagination!
Workshop Details:
• Dates: June 23 - 25, 2025
• Time: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
• Location: Studio 269 & 270, Huntsville Art Supplies
• Ticket Price: $210 for all three days
• Maximum Class Size: 12
• Minimum Class Size: 4 (If less than 4, the class will be canceled and fees refunded.)
What You’ll Create:
🐠 Watercolor & Glue Jellyfish – Make a magical jellyfish with flowing watercolor and glue.
🐢 Air Dry Clay Fish Dish – Sculpt your own fish dish to keep.
🐙 Acrylic Painting Play – Paint a colorful sea creature with bold acrylics.
🌿 Kelp Gelli Prints – Create unique ocean kelp prints using gelli plates.
What You’ll Learn:
• Hands-on fun with Watercolor, Acrylic, Clay, and Printmaking
• Simple art skills like painting, sculpting, and printing
• Cool facts about sea creatures and their underwater homes!
Daily Schedule:
🕘 9:00-9:30 AM – Meet & Greet, Introduction to the Day’s Lesson
🖌 9:30-10:30 AM – Demonstration & Hands-on Artmaking
🍎 10:30-10:45 AM – Snack & Bathroom Break
🎨 10:45-11:45 AM – Continue Project or Start a New One
🧹 11:45 AM-12:00 PM – Clean Up & Pack Up

About the Instructor:

Beth McKay is a certified art teacher and artist at Lowe Mill. She began her formal art training at the University of Montevallo in 2002 with a concentration in painting and a minor in graphic design. She earned her degree in Art Education from the University of Alabama in Huntsville in 2018 to foster the love of art in young minds. She has been an elementary art teacher in Huntsville City Schools for 7 years and currently teaches art at Ridgecrest, Farley, and Monte Sano Elementary schools. She has been creating art for over 25 years, is a member of the ALWCA, and is a working artist with a studio at Lowe Mill Arts & Entertainment in Studio 261. Her preferred mediums include oil, watercolor, and screenprinting.
